Attention, all forum users!
Please note, there will be swearing and my general bad mood below in this announcement. If you really cannot stand that, I have no clue how you've stuck around me for so long.
Apparently, no one knows proper roleplay etiquette. So, here's some general pointers that will make sure I don't decide to to something rash in spite of everyone's lack of experience.
So. First of all, most of you have simply been announcing 'i did this' and leaving it very generally.
How the hell am I supposed to reply to that?
I don't care if your responses are only a few sentences long. I don't even care if they're in complete sentences, or if they have any punctuation or capitalization. But if I cannot fathom the slightest inkling of an idea of how to respond to your little bit of, "he kinda just stood to the side", or "he trailed after" etc, you are doing it wrong. You have to interact with other characters if you are expecting to progress with them, or progress at all.
Here is some stuff I learned in middle school.
HERE'S WHAT YOU NEED IN A GOOD STORY:
-Conflict
-More than one character
-Interaction, dialogue, action
-A plot (You can have your own side plot! Trust me, if you stray too much from the main one, I will edit your post and fix it)
So what you must do is heed this advice. Go forth, maybe edit some of your recent posts.
Because I have no clue how to continue the storyline if no one is interacting with each other. Oh, yeah, you're allowed to stray behind all you want. But I've been trying to stir up some conflicts- even if they're small- and if none of you are taking the initiative...
Maybe we need a bigger community? But we'll all have to work at it, together.
TO SUMMARIZE:
* Acknowledge the conflict! Maybe even act on it!
* There are other people on the forums for a reason! You aren't gonna get anywhere without interacting with them, too.
* You're allowed your own side stories if you get bored. Don't wait for someone else if you really want to write.
